Artsakh Blockade 2023-2024 by Azerbaijan

On June 15, 2023, Azerbaijan initiated the entire phase of its blockade of Artsakh. Baku has prohibited all humanitarian, passenger, and cargo movement from Armenia to Artsakh via the checkpoint previously illegally constructed by the Azerbaijani side at the entrance to the Berdzor corridor. Patients with serious illnesses in Artsakh were denied the ability to seek care outside of the country.
The Russian peacekeeping detachment, tasked with monitoring the fulfillment of the November 10, 2020, tripartite agreement preventing the extermination of Artsakh people, was unable to stop these or other misanthropic demarches by the Aliyev dictatorship.
The denouement came on September 19, 2023, when Azerbaijan launched military aggression against Artsakh, resulting in the republic’s demise, a mass killing and beheading of Armenian children by Azerbaijan soldiers, and ethnic cleansing of the Armenian population with mass exodus and
a fundamental decline in Russian influence in the South Caucasus, and unprecedented pressure from Baku on Armenia.
As of 2024 Azerbaijan is also occupying Armenian sovereign territories.
